We aim to keep running B-Epic Youth Club from Brockworth Library from April 2018. Without additional funding we face closure.

Brockworth Link (formerly Brockworth Community Project) is a local registered charity providing library, adult education and Youth Work services in Brockworth.

When the County Council withdrew funding for Youth Work in 2011, Brockworth Link took over the provision in Brockworth, initially from the Youth Centre and now from Brockworth Library on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, providing a range of fun, educational and diversionary activities for young people aged 9+ living in Brockworth.  We aim to increase social and community engagement of young people whilst improving self-confidence, self-esteem, physical and mental health and providing access to exciting opportunities such as trips and residential visits. B-Epic Youth Club is a safe, welcoming, consistent place for young people to meet with friends, seek advice from qualified, experienced youth workers and learn about their place in the world. We also provide a Young Leader scheme with the aim of our older members becoming volunteers and positive role models for younger members. We attract around fifty attendees per week, who would otherwise have limited alternative places to go.

Unfortunately, in recent times it has become increasingly difficult to secure funding to ensure we can continue our provision.  We currently do not have sufficient funding to operate from April 2018 and are at risk of closing the Youth Club, which would be devastating for the members of staff and young people alike. We employ nine part-time Youth Workers, all of whom have been working with young people in the village for many years (some for almost twenty!) and are passionate about our project and the young people who access it.

We would welcome any financial support from anyone who values what we do; no amount is too big or too small. We also welcome contact from anyone who has ideas for fundraising or other suggestions.
