Her name is Fabiola De Abreu, she's 17 years old, and she's a Senior at Simon Bolivar School in Caracas (Venezuela). She is a brilliant girl, full of hopes and dreams.
Due to her delicate situation, Fabiola has been hospitalized, for several weeks, at the Leopoldo Agueverrevere Hospital in Caracas.
She presents a history of idiopathic hydrocephalus that required the placement of a valve in the peritoneal ventricle in 2016. She remained stable until December 2017, when the valve started to fail. As a result, she went through a surgery that month, and had two more surgeries (One in February and the other in May 2018).
Unfortunately, after all these surgeries, at this time she's suffering a neuro-infection which is causing her general limitations: She's actually unable to speak or to respond to stimuli, and she's having alterations of the state of consciousness.
Her current state requires several weeks of intensive care for antibiotic treatment and life support.
Faby doesn't have health insurance (As this is quite expensive in Venezuela because of the crisis), Venezuela is going through a very hard situation right now. The crisis is making Venezuelans life everyday harder and harder. There's no medicines, no food, and sometimes, not even electricity or water. The minimum wage is around 2£ per month, and a big part of the population lives in Extreme poverty (Less than 1USD per month).
That's why we are asking for your help. We already thank you for this!
