A gathering place and community space
For worship and prayer, and just being there;
Somewhere quiet to rest, somewhere you can be blessed;
Marking births, weddings, endings; kids clubs and befriending;
From debate and thought to bereavement support;
Youthwork, music, cafe; all the town's special days;
Concerts, festivals, fashion; school visits and passion
For people connecting... We were not expecting
This virus, this pause, where we all close our doors.
Now we love in new ways, celebrate special days
With great determination and imagination:
Phone people, connect; help the lives Covid wrecked;
Charge no funeral fees for bereaved families;
In this time we're apart, shut our doors not our hearts;
Services now online and by post all combine
To ensure through and through we remain here for you:
Won't leave you in the lurch - we are your local church!
(If you need us, just call: we are here for you all).
Since we can't collect money in our usual ways (through those of you giving regularly in services and through some of the activities and events we run) and because we are bearing the cost of funerals ourselves at the moment to help families who are going through the horrible pain of losing loved ones, we are asking for a little help. Usually we would collect for other charities all year round but now with our buildings closed but our bills still coming in, and the extra expenses of trying to keep helping people and keep people connected, if you usually give or occasionally give or have ever thought of giving to us or would like to help us in our work, please donate here. Or, if giving online makes you feel uncomfortable, please contact us via revcarolinebeckett@gmail.com for other options.
Thank you.
