ASYLUM SEEKERS is a short film and exploration of the cyclical and often devastating nature of psychological disorders with a comedic slant.
We follow two women, HOLLIE and SOPHIE as they emerge back into the humdrum of reality after an extended stint in a Psychiatric Unit. They are sedated and drugged up to the eyeballs. Forced to engage with the real world again they find it has little to offer them other than a grotty and numb existence. Through several comical and familiar annoyances the two girls revert to their own universe where they are all powerful and back in control of their environment. Ultimately the outside world creeps back into their lives with hilarious and tragic consequences.
