We are the only organisation in the area that is run by people in recovery, for people in recovery and their families. This includes people in recovery from addiction, mental health & armed forces Veterans with PTSD.
We deliver a peer support and art programme that includes community murals, art & craft workshops, Merchandise design, Bushcraft & survival & Peer support group therapy.
We are an award winning community interest company that focuses on changing peoples lives, giving them a purpose and supporting them in their recovery long term.
We work on many community murals and every month we run a bushcraft camp for people in recovery and armed forces veterans.
Because of the projects we deliver, we require a suitable vehicle. We were recently told that our current van can not be repaired and because of this we will not be able to deliver our project work until we obtain a suitable vehicle. We are hoping that with the support of the public we can get back on the road again and continue with our community projects.
All of our projects are community driven and our murals are designed to include & instill a sense of pride in local people. We work with the wider Community with many different people volunteering in our projects. Art students from the Grimsby Institute regularly join us on work placements, to help them gain experience. We provide public talks to help educate others on addiction & the recovery process.
Our projects have a huge impact on those that participate, they help build self esteem and create a sense of purpose. We have a reputation for creating high end artwork and always looking for the next challenging project.
The people that run CREATIVE START are all affected by the issues they aim to tackle. We are all very passionate about the work we do and the programme has helped change many lives. We hope you can support us & help us reach out to more people.
