I have always wanted to make arts and crafts accessible to all in my shop and also out in the wider community.
I would like to purchase pottery equipment - kiln, pottery wheel to give people access to activities that are not available in our local area. People in the community can make items from scratch and see it through to the finished article giving them a sense of achievement.
pottery is especially suited to people with sensory impairments due to it being very hands on.
If enough funds are raised I would also like to use funds to create a position or positions within my business, creating jobs and experience within the local community.
Funds would also be used for going out and visiting schools locally , mobile equipment can be purchased for this.
Interest has been going really well so far, lots of people interested in classes, events and opportunities delivered In the shop, and I aim to make everything I do sustainable with a business model that reinvests income I generate back into the studio. Funding for arts projects is really difficult these days, but I believe that traditional craft skills are super important and something everyone can enjoy and benefit from, and I know that there's a demand for varied craft experiences from the lovely people who come into Arty Party Crafts every day and ask about when and where they can start learning pottery and attending art classes.
I need some capital funding for arts and crafts equipment so that i can share my knowledge and skills with others and with the wider community. I need potters wheels and a kiln, to start with, so I can help to establish the studio in North Ayrshire to offer group classes and workshops that everyone can enjoy and bring something different to Ardrossan .
