•HELP SUPPORT ARTISTA•
It’s a confusing time, with guidelines frequently changing, and another lockdown looming, making those of us who work in the #arts unsure if our careers have a future at all.
Artista, and other independent venues, are among the most impacted businesses in the country by the coronavirus pandemic. The financial impact of being closed for 7 months, alongside the reduced capacities created by the social distancing measures have left Artista fighting for survival. We are now in very real danger of having to close our doors forever.
We are an independent venue in the middle of #Brighton’s listed area of Brunswick Town, with over a 6 year history in the city. We have been left out of government funding that was allocated to larger venues in town due to us not being a limited company. We have supported the grassroots art, comedy and music scene since our inception but we now find ourselves in the unfortunate position of having to ask for support ourselves. We know how to do what we do, all we need is the chance to be able to carry on doing it.
So for now, if you can, please help support our Crowdfunder campaign by donating whatever you can to our fantastic venue, and to other grassroots venues up and down the country that are currently in crisis.
What’s more, if you donate £20 or more you will be entitled to a great #saveourvenues t-shirt, that you can proudly wear in the knowledge you have helped to keep us alive.
If we hit our target, and we can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
