Paula desperately needs funds now for a specialist cancer clinic abroad as her cancer has not responded to traditional treatments. If we can raise these funds there is a strong possibility that Paula’s life can be saved. (story continued below).
The art raffle has now closed. Winners will be contacted soon. The art exhibition and sale and our sister fundraising page are still ongoing - more details below.
Art Raffle Details
Paula’s sculpture ‘Embrace’ is a main prize worth £1000 and we have other amazing donations including a personal portrait session from Lucy Stopford. Beatrice Hoffman, Paula’s friend, has also generously donated a sculpture worth £780. There are also ceramics, photographs, paintings, prints, sketches, watercolours and more.
Winners will be selected by a random number generator - and be able to select their art prize in order - first out of the hat chooses theirs and so on.
Most artists have agreed to post the prizes out, but if geographically possible we will discuss collection/ delivery with you. Look out for messages over the next few days.
See our collection of amazing local artists (many of whom have donated towards the raffle) participating in the art sale, and contact the artists directly through their websites for prices and further information.
Art Sale and Exhibition Details
Many professional, mainly local, artists are generously supporting our cause by donating up to 50% of any sales to Paula's fund. You will discover 19 artists using varied media and styles, from the traditional /representational to the more fluid and contemporary.
Amongst them, striking photos of Oxford's iconic architecture, bronze (resin) sculptures for the home and garden, both figurative, animals and abstract; painters using oils, watercolour acrylics, charcoal or pastels to depict both recognisable and abstract subject matter; two portraitists; a print maker with bold designs inspired by African art; and beautiful objects like hand-crafted tableware, glass bowls and carved tree tables.
Paula is also selling her sculpture with 100% profits to the fund.
Our good friend Paula Cave recovered from breast cancer in 2015. She thought she was going to celebrate the magic 5 year remission milestone. At 53, Paula, her husband Richard and their sons Archie (16) and Monty (13) were hoping they could put that battle behind them and plan for the future. Instead, on Christmas Eve 2019, Paula received the devastating news that her breast cancer had returned. After 6 months, despite Paula’s best efforts, the cancer has not responded to traditional treatments. Despite the lightning speed in which this has all happened, the cancer has marched on and turned her life upside down. Paula is not at the end of the road as there are other options.
If you would prefer to make a straight donation then please go to our sister fundraising page. Realistically, to cover all costs, and for Paula to be able to access the most advanced treatments, they will need £50,000 plus.
Thanks so much to you all for your support.
