Those that know me, can confirm that I will most likely spend at the least an evening of my week at some gig, either taking pictures or listening away.
The spread of Coronavirus in the UK and beyond is not only keeping me and you from reaching to our favourite music for an unknown time, but will evidently have a huge impact on the events industry and the freelancers included, as well as those in hospitality supporting them.
As these businesses are voluntarily closing in order to keep their staff safe and sane, there is a lot of uncertainty for the upcoming period.
Certainly everyone is probably facing similar issues, but all of us have at least one person in hospitality / freelancer in our immediate circle and this could be a way to support them and gradually, the local economy.
As a 5am idea that wouldn't let me sleep... In return for some of your pocket money, I would like to share some artwork I have been producing over the past few years (and some that will be produced over the free time coming up... ) - anything is largely appreciated ! !
Luckily, I am able to work from home if necessary so the amount raised will be fully used to support Glasgow based freelancers/pals in hospitality and artists. Unavoidably, a small part will need to go towards materials for printing/posting.
Let's support our artist pals and our music, without which we could not stay sane!!
Note to self; #staycalm #stayhome #supportyourlocalmusic #withartIstaycalm
Big thanks to everyone.
*** This is also an open call to local artists/musicians based in Glasgow and beyond ; send me some of your (small-ish) work that can be easily printed and posted / sent via email - contact me directly at my Facebook page/here.
*** Other ways to help locally ;
- care for your neighbours
- put up a box for your local food bank
