Devastation of UK Reef by Trawler’s Highlights need for ‘Sleeping Policemen’
The Loch Carron reef, near Plockton in the Scottish Highlands, could take decades to recover after being irresponsibly dredged on two occasions.
This disappointing news proves that it’s not just our declining fish stocks that suffer from irresponsible and illegal trawling, but our ocean environment in general.
Protecting marine life of all kinds is at the forefront of our ARC Module’s design.
By deploying our artificial reefs on the ocean floor, our ‘sleeping policmen’ can block the use of trawling equipment – something that will deter illegal fishing, and in-turn, limit the need for patrolling vessels in vulnerable areas.
So, thanks for supporting us in our mission to transform the future of ocean conservation!
