As a supporter of the Wind Turbine projects at Kingswood, Stroud, which are nearing completion, I'm pleased to lend my support to the appeal and very much wish for its success. We must at all costs divest from fossil fuels now if we have any hope of keeping to the Paris accord. Good luck. I look forward to hearing a positive result. (Sorry I can't give more - I'm a pensioner.)
Yet another example of this governments 'hatred' of renewable energy even when there is clear public support and community backing! They have consistently tried to stop perfectly legal and valid renewable energy projects with flawed process and even worse the flawed logic of continued reliance on fossil-fuelled energy, a toxic and expensive source of power for the 21s century and beyond. lean, green renewable energy in all its forms together with an updated 'smart grid' is the only safe way forward!
Public benefit - which renewable energy is - IS a valid planning consideration, and was one of the issues that help us get Council approval for solar panels, which were very sensitively placed, on a small public building within the Conservation Area of central Canterbury, despite nimby opposition from amentity societies, so I have a lot of sympathy with this Gloucestershire project and wish their appeal every success!
