I have been riding a bike since I was 3 years old and first tried BMX when I was 7, which is almost 2 years ago. I went to try it out with a friend and loved it immediately! The coaches at Brixton BMX was so friendly and encouraging and I made lots of new friends. I started training every weekend and went to ride during the week when I had time. I was so upset when the track was closed during lockdown and missed BMX so much. I was so happy when the fences finally came down last summer and we were allowed to ride again. I started racing this year and have travelled around the South of England for Regional races. I also raced at the British Championships in Leicester in August and came 4th in my age group which I was so happy with. I just raced in the South Championships and came 4th in the 9-10 year old category which was hard because most of the girls I race are already 10.
I love training at Brixton BMX club but the track needs a lot of repairs. It gets flooded when it rains and some people ruin the surface by riding scooters and quad bikes on it which makes me sad. Once the repairs and improvements are finished, it will be amazing because only people on BMX bikes will be able to ride the track and it will be much easier to look after it. To help raise money for the project, I am going to ride at least 40 laps of the track in October. I hope you can sponsor me! Thank you very much ❤️
