To use our love of football to give it a community purpose. To use success on the pitch to inspire, involve and benefit those around us.
Over the years, our club has become home for its players, members, supporters, and their families. We play together, work together, and socialise together. This ‘family’ environment has seen us look outside of the pitch.
Football is our starting point: we want to use it to demonstrate the joy of succeeding through effort, to improve health and wellbeing, to fuse sport with culture and education, to take social responsibility and show respect. To restore some faith back into our beautiful game.
But to do that, we need new members, collaborators, partners from all fields and funds to help us deliver football with purpose.
For small outfits like us, it costs over £10k per year to run a football club in London. Training facilities, matchday pitch hire, and equipment costs are in the thousands. Add in kits, referee fees, lost balls, fines, league and county affiliations, insurance, courses for volunteers, and a never ending list of other items and you can see it’s not easy.
The fees we charge our players cover some of these costs, but don’t give us the scope to do all the things we want to achieve off the pitch.
This season our aim is to develop relationships with community-based groups to inspire us and help us to solidify the core values of our club through our actions. We want to ensure that our actions make us a club to be proud of.
Our new home, ALTIS PARK (also known as the London Marathon Community Track Stadium) gives us a high profile focus for our activities. Sharing the pitch with West Ham United Ladies, we’re proud residents and believe this is the best amateur playing surface in the UK. It’s the perfect foundation for football with purpose.
There are some great packages on this page, and we look forward to welcoming new supporters on our journey. We need donations from you to help us develop and kick start this club to be something great and deliver on Football with Purpose.
We believe that high-level football has become detached from those that love it. Money has taken over. And usually it’s the fans who pay the bill.
Grassroots football is the antidote to all this. It is the beautiful game because it’s still about the game. With some of our players having played men’s football for nearly two decades, it was clear to us that we needed to give something back to the sport that’s given us so much joy - to restore some sparkle and to help broaden its horizons, rather than sit back and watch them shrink.
Our core mission for Altis FC is Football with Purpose, it is about making it more than just a kick around with your mates, or trying to climb the pyramid of grassroots football to get to the highest level. Our satisfaction comes from supporting up and coming projects, and highlighting the difference they can make, locally and globally.
Our partnership with ‘Football Beyond Borders’ has made a great start. We raised over £2,000, cycling 100km on its London Stadium Cycle Challenge in September. The money raised will help putting 18 children through their programme in 2018.
We have also teamed up with ‘Park Social Soccer Co’ as our official ball provider for the 2017/2018 season, and will be ambassadors here in the UK to promote their Pass-a-Ball initiative. Where every ball purchased sees another given to someone else who needs it in disadvantaged areas.
We are looking for like minded people and groups to partner with us on projects. We have already found some, but are always looking for more. Our current partners include :
ALTIS FC (formerly SLOANE FC) started 10 years ago with a handful of Alumni from The University of Arts London. Having graduated at the same time, we were looking for a club to join, but ended up starting our own. Playing in Middlesex County Football League we played as high as step 7, winning the league and cup double in 2014/15.
A passion project that has developed over the years, is now an integral part to most of our lives.
Football Beyond Borders are an amazing education focused charity, which uses football as an engagement tool to provide young people with the opportunity to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential.
Park Social Soccer Co are a socially conscious brand focused on helping disadvantaged kids through a sport they love. Their Pass a Ball Project gets soccer balls onto the feet of kids that need them most. The One for One model means that for every PARK Soccer Ball purchased, an identical ball is passed on to a kid in need.
This project offers rewards in return for your donation.
