This is Esme. She is 2 years old and I rescued her with her 2 brothers aged 3 weeks from an outside toilet on the derby docks in Crewe. She was riddled with fleas and cat flu.
She has never been a well cat since and although her 2 brothers were rehomed, Esme stayed with me as I didn't want to burden a new owner with potential vet bills.
Last night she was diagnosed with kidney failure and cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart). She will not survive for much longer.
She is one of the most affectionate cats I have ever met. Only happy when she is having a cuddle and must be on a person at all times.
I would very much like to bring her home and keep her comfortable for a few days so everyone can say goodbye before she is put to sleep. I would also like to have her euthanised at home and then cremated at Sleepy Meadow pet cemetary and her ashes brought home to be with the other cats and Ludo the unknown dog. As some of you know, when I shuffle off, the executor of my will is to be given a funnel and all the animal ashes are to be mixed with mine and we will be interred in the lake district together.
To do this, will cost £140 for cremation, £110 for home euthanasia, £110 for her current stay at the vets and diagnostic scanning and £90 for her medication to keep her pain free for her last few days.
