I know I always say how proud I am of Emily, but I couldn’t be more proud than I am right now ❤️????
This young lady has just turned 15, and a little over 2 years ago she was diagnosed with severe scoliosis; curvature of the spine. She had a double curve and a lateral twist which worsened over time, pushing her rib cage out of alignment and causing a lot of discomfort and pain.
Corrective surgery was always on the cards, and she finally had it on Wednesday last week. She had 7 hours in theatre, with her spine realigned and pinned into place with titanium rods and screws.
By Thursday she was sitting on the edge of the bed, by Friday she took some aided steps
By Saturday she was walking unaided, and today she’s home!
She’s been through hell and back these last 5 days, and as a mum it’s destroyed me seeing her in pain, but she’s smashed every milestone like a boss ????????
We cannot thank the team at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt hospital enough; the staff on the Alice Ward are simply amazing and have cared so well for Emily that there were a few tears shed when we left!
As a thank you for everything they’ve done, and to help enable them to continue to change lives like Emily’s, we’ve set up a donation page and would appreciate any donation, no matter how small, and we’ll be so pleased to be able to tell them that we’ve raised some money towards their amazing services when we go back for check ups ????????
