Aireborough Rugby 2020

Aireborough Rugby 2020

Improving our playing and clubhouse facilities to increase our senior membership and enable our thriving junior section to grow even bigger

We did it!

On 23rd Jun 2017 we successfully raised £5,215 of £2,000 target with 57 supporters in 12 days

New stretch target

We're extremely grateful to our supporters who've helped us reach our original target in 72 hours, and our first stretch target of double or our original target in just one week! Due to the popularity of our project, and the amazing things we can do to our facilities using your investment, we're hoping to raise even more, and have set a further stretch target. Thanks in advance for your continued support.

Aireborough Rugby Club have proudly been selected by the RFU as one of only 70 rugby clubs nationally to participate in their first ever Crowd Funding project.

If we reach our initial target of £2,000 then we will receive an additional £750 from the RFU!

Please support us by donating whatever amount you can to enable us to continue to be a great asset for the community in Aireborough and a club where all ages and abilities are encouraged to play the great game of rugby, and learn the rugby values of teamwork and respect.

We are based in Nunroyd Park on the border between Guiseley and Yeadon and run 2 senior teams, plus micro and junior teams with ages from 4 years to 17 years old.

These days every club has to continually improve its facilities to ensure that players keep wanting to play, and our supporters can enjoy the rugby on offer. Aireborough RUFC is a relatively junior club and has traditionally struggled on this front, using a council pitch and a clubhouse shared with a local cricket and althletics club.

We have recently spent all of our development fund, which was saved over many years, to level and drain a new floodlit grass training area which will be used for the first time this winter, but we know this is not enough - we need to do more.

With our first ever juniors on the verge of moving into senior rugby we are confident of playing 3 teams each Saturday whilst still having micros and juniors at every age group, and this means that as part of our development plan, we want/have to:

1) Improve the drainage on our single and notoriously boggy pitch

2) Replace the main training floodlights on our old all weather training area (which are on their last legs)

3) Complete a feasibility study on the future of the all weather training area, and take forward recommended actions, including addressing possibility of another pitch

4) Continue to improve our off-field facilities including re-tiling the rugby changing rooms and giving them an 'Aireborough' makeover.

All donations, no matter how big or small, will help us towards our target and be re-invested into the community
