AgeUKSurrey-No one should have no one at Christmas

We are a group of University of Surrey students fundraising for Age UK Surrey to help them and bring a smile to the faces of the elderly.

We did it!

On 28th Dec 2015 we successfully raised £145 with 8 supporters in 21 days

We are a group of four students studying International Business Management at the University of Surrey. We are fundraising for Age UK Surrey, an independent charity which cares for and helps old people in all matters of life, but especially supports those who suffer from loneliness. Over a million elderly people all over the UK haven't spoken to anyone in over a month, not even family members. Age UK Surrey runs a befriending service, which includes a helpline which people can call and chat to someone when they don't have anyone else. They also have volunteer befrienders who will visit an elderly person once a week. We were inspired to raise awareness for the issue of loneliness amongst old people in order to improve the lifes of those suffering now and to make sure that this doesn't happen to such an extent in the future.

For £5 Age UK Surrey can keep up their advice hotline where they help older people in need of support.

For £10 Age UK Surrey can promote their research towards the needs of old people in order to continue with their amazing work in the future.

For £50 Age UK Surrey can fund a month worth of visits of a volunteer befriender to make the life of a lonely person better.

Please support us in order to help the generation of your grandparents, parents and possibly yourself - every little counts.
