I am a HR consultant and work with employees who do not qualify for legal aid and cannot afford legal fees. I would like to establish a fund to enable them to get initial advice from an employment solicitor to establish whether they have a claim. I do not propose to pay for all legal fees but to give people the opportunity to at least have their claim assessed.
My first case is someone who is being dismissed due to their ADHD without assessing reasonable adjustments. The employer has acted unreasonably but is a large organisation. I would like to help this person pay for legal advice to assess the case. If there was enough to pursue the claim, that would be fantastic. So far all advice and letters I have written have been pro bono and I don’t want that to change but legal advice would be fantastic.
