We did it!

On 6th Jan 2016 we successfully raised £725 with 22 supporters in 28 days

Please help us to launch and develop an innovative project supporting 30 young people with special needs as they leave school.

There is a massive problem that exists for young people with special needs as they transition from school into the wider community and towards independence. Essentially they fall off a cliff in terms of support and provision - not just an issue for them but also for their parents and carers.

Transitions UK is a charity set up to address the needs of a lost generation of young people in our society. Our Luton based project is specifically to support at least 30 young people as they make that transition towards a better future. This project aims to be a proforma for other projects elsewhere in the country but we need your help to get this important first project off the ground.

We are seeking at least £25,000, from this crowdfunding appeal to launch this project and provide the momentum for replication and further development. This will then give us the platform we need to raise additional funding from other sources to help even more young people - with special needs, emotional and mental health problems, those leaving care or at risk of offending.

Deploying 40 young volunteers, we will deliver after school and beyond school provision, personal planning and development and a range of community engagement for under £6 per hour, leveraging over 10,000 hours of support p.a. that did not exist previously.

Please help us not only to launch and develop this project but to enable the charity to make a substantial contribution to the very real needs of this lost generation of young people in our country. Be as generous as you can.
