My name is Jon Mahoney, I'm a UK dentist and the founder of Accidentist. Throughout my career, I have always felt I could do more to improve peoples lives other than the patients I treat. Everybody in the world should be able to access emergency dentistry at the click of a button. Why is it that with all the wealth there is in the world, there are hundreds of millions, if not billions of people who have inadequate access to an emergency dentist.

My vision for Accidentist is to become the fastest global online platform to connect any patient in the world with local, available emergency dental services. We are a for-profit business with a strong humanitarian and philanthropic agenda.

We are proposing a One for One business model, so for every ONE emergency dental appointment booked through Accidentist in the developed world pays for ONE emergency dental appointment in the developing world.

We have recently launched an update to the website that shows live available emergency appointment times with one click. Our 'offline' service that runs in parallel to this alerts practices/patients by email and SMS which will be vital to patients in the developing world where dentists do not have an online practice diary. 

We are in conversations with international dental charities to see how Accidentist can be launched initially in Tanzania where there is only 1 dentist per 150,000 people. Patients in rural villages often walk long distances for emergency dental care, not realising there are emergency dental services nearby. In the UK, the ratio is closer to 1 dentist per 1,500 people.

Accidentist is a collaboration between dental practices, dental software providers, dental patients, dental charities for the greater good.

The money that you donate will be invested in further website developments and marketing to dentists and patients alike, hopefully to the point where the business can support the One4One business model.
