by Accessible Iris in Bristol, England, United Kingdom

We did it
On 3rd August 2021 we successfully raised £33,610 with 485 supporters in 28 days

We are creating an accessible campervan so that families with a disabled child can enjoy campervan holidays too.

We did it! Thank you so much...

We are so thrilled by how successful our crowdfunder campaign has been and how much support has been shown for our idea. Thanks to the generosity of 485 people, many of whom were not known to Cody or myself, we have raised an incredible £33,610.

This will pay for the conversion of Iris from humble van into an accessible living and travelling space for up to five people. It will also pay for 8 weeks worth of employed help for Cody whilst he is converting the van (anybody need a job?), it will pay off a chunk of the loan we took out to buy Iris and, perhaps most exciting of all, it gives us a pot of £6,000 so that we can subsidise the holidays of lower-income families who want to borrow Iris.

Thank you so much for helping Iris climb all those rainbows. Our hope is to thank you all individually, though that might take a little time.

If anybody wishes to follow our journey further then please do follow us on Facebook or sign up to our newsletter at . You won't hear anything from us until September as we are going to take a few weeks off to enjoy the summer (she writes, trying to ignore the torrential rain outside), and of course to spend some time with our lovely children, who have both been very patient whilst we worked on this.

Have a lovely summer.

Lots of love
