I'm supporting a young woman who is a survivor of human trafficking. She has no papers to prove which country is responsible for her.
She's getting her life back together, and pursuing her dream of studying philosophy at Cambridge. In order to apply, she needs recent qualifications and a current academic reference. Her education in her home country happened before the abuse, too long ago to count.
Cambridge have recommended she take a course at the Institute of Continuing Education. She applied and impressed the admissions team so much that she was accepted immediately.
She has no money of her own for the course fees, and without papers she can't prove she has the right to work in the UK. She needs to raise the fees before the course starts in September, otherwise she won't meet the criteria to apply for her degree.
If we can raise £2,250, she'll be able to study and take her mind off her terrible experiences. She'll have teachers who can give her an academic reference for her university application. She'll gain 60 credits at level 4, demonstrating her academic ability so that she can apply for a Cambridge degree starting in 2020.
