- The extra funds would allow us to go further with our plans for phase two
- We can achieve more towards our overall total for the project
The Warren School is a school in Oulton Broad for 117 students, from 3 1/2 to 19 years, with severe and complex or profound and multiple learning difficulties.
As a registered charity since 1984, Warren Association is a small but dedicated group of parent/carers and staff who work tirelessly to raise funds for the Warren school to enable them to maintain and build upon their resources and curriculum.
A Special Playground for a Special School will be to transform the main playground into a specialised outdoor learning environment. As the number of learners on the roll is ever-increasing, the school has already maximised its use of all possible space within the building. There are no more opportunities left to extend classrooms or site mobile classrooms. Our current playground now has equipment that has broken and cannot be used.
The overall design has been laid out into different learning zones, creating a unique, inclusive, sensory-rich, and challenging outdoor provision, accessible for all learners regardless of individual need and disability, with the means to be used as an extension to the school's curriculum.
We have worked in partnership with Timotay Playscapes, an award-winning playground and play space provider, together we have finalised our design concept, which maximises our play and educational benefits through natural and sensory exploratory elements.
The Warren Association are continuing to work hard fundraising to create a special playground for a special school; we have raised £30,000 towards phase one and hope for work to begin this Summer.
We are starting to raise money towards phase two of our playground project
This is a very exciting phase as we believe the swings and trampoline area was on every learners wish list; we would love to make this a reality for our star learners.
We are excited to share with you the opportunity to be involved with our project.
