We need funds to create a short film that shows a woman as she frees her sexuality from being defined by what men have desired her to be.

We did it!

On 20th Feb 2017 we successfully raised £2,015 of £1,000 target with 69 supporters in 28 days

New stretch target

Shooting a film is expensive.  Our initial target of £1000 might cover the costs of the shoot but if we are to create a more professionally produced film then we need a lot more money.  With £3000 we could rent sound equipment and pay a sound engineer to make sure that our sound is clear and crisp.  We could have a hair and make up artist on set.  We could pay someone to look over our final edit and make sure that it is as good as it needs to be.  We could also have budget for dressing the set and for feeding all the wonderful people who have so far offered to give us their time.

Any money that we have left over from the stretch target (it's very unlikely that we will have any money left over...) we will use in post production and if we have any money after that we will use it to pay for travel to our premier in Tibilisi, Georgia.

Please donate now to make this important project happen.  Talking about sex and women and our bodies and our choices and our pleasure free from patriarchal control has never been more important.

We are raising money for a short film about female sexuality.  The working title of the film is "LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT"

The film will be shot in the Highlands of Scotland by a very small crew.

The film will be premiered in Tbilisi, Georgia at a festival about sexuality.

We need funds to hire equipment, to pay for an editing suite and a recording studio, and to pay for transport and food on our shoot days.

The film will tell the story of a woman as she begins to examine her own sexuality and her enjoyment of sex.  For the first time in her life she asks what it is about sex that she finds pleasurable. She wants to stop performing what she has been told is sexy, and instead she starts to explore what she wants and needs to feel sexy.

Can we stop feeling that our sexuality is an object for male enjoyment and instead begin to feel active in our own sexual pleasure?

This is the question our film will explore.

We are two friends living in East London.  Marika is a photographer and works as a multimedia editor on the photo desk of a global news agency and Tamsin is an activist and actor. "LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT" will be the first film that we have produced, however we have both worked on film shoots before.

We have been overwhelmed with interest after posting about this film project on our personal Facebook accounts.  We have interviewed over 50 women who were happy to have a space created where they could talk about their experience of sex, and how their sexuality has been defined by men and by society. It feels to us that how women experience their sexuality is an important topic for popular culture to address.  We see our film as contributing to this conversation. We really hope that you will help us to make this project happen.
