A new life for Amalia

A new life for Amalia

This is a project to save little Amalia, a three week old puppy from Portugal, who is starting a new life in the UK.

We did it!

On 30th Aug 2016 we successfully raised £640 of £600 target with 27 supporters in 56 days

This is a project to save little Amalia, a three week old puppy from Portugal. When we found her, her leg had been broken and she was tied up outside without water.  We spoke to the owners and coerced them into taking her to the vet.  What had occurred is one of the children of the owner,  had dropped a wooden plank on her leg and just left her. In the three days we got to know Amalia she was never attended to, nor received any care. The cost of vet bills was prohibitive for the owners. We asked if we would be able to help, so paid for the initial care and treatment of the fractured tibia. After initial inspection we became aware that Amelia would need more care, including tests for Parvo and other blood work.  The owners didn't want to pay for care so we began the process of looking into adopting her. At this stage the owners have given us permission to take Amalia to the UK.  We still need to pay for her jabs, passport, vet bill, microchip,  travel to the UK and the cost of care between now and the time she is old enough to have her jabs and set off on her new life in the UK in about 3 months. Any donation would be gratefully received and I will be posting Amalia's progress on Facebook. Thank you for reading!! X
