My husband and I are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary this year and would love to move out of his family home and have our own e.

by Bronwyn Edmunds in Gloucester, England, United Kingdom

In 2007 I met the man of my dreams, so when he asked me to marry him I was over the moon. We got married back in 2011 and started what we though would be a great adventure. I am a South African and my husband is British. Before we got married we appointed an immigration firm whom were meant to assist with my spousal visa. Due to some bad advice from this firm, when we put in the application after we got married we had the devastating news that my visa was rejected. My husband had to go back home as he didn’t want to leave his job and I stayed in South Africa with my family. I then appointed another firm to appeal the case and that was also rejected based on the information from my original application.

For 25 LONG months, my husband and I were separated (him in England and me back home in South Africa). We were then recommended a firm by a friend and the were fantastic, but very pricy. This firm we amazing and helped get me back home to my husband. We then used them again to do the visa renewal 2.5 years later and just used them again in August last year to apply for my residency.

In the 8 years we have been married we have spent over £25k on immigration solicitors and visa applications and different tests.

We have therefore struggled to save up a deposit for a house as we have been paying debts. I would love more than anything to move out my husband family home so we can get a place of our own.
