The time is now. Bedford Borough Council needs Green Party representation. We have been waiting four years for these elections to come round, to build on a 2nd place in one ward, and a result in another that leaves us needing just 32 extra votes. Now, we are running the campaign to get us over the line on 2 May. However, this is expensive. Can you please help make sure we don’t fall short by running out of money?
Up and down the country it’s been clear what a difference it can make, having Green voices on a Council. Greens excel at making sure that the vulnerable and marginalised are cared for.
And that can be the case in Bedford. We made significant inroads in the last local elections and are keen to build on that success to finally get some Green councillors for Bedford Borough to ensure that action is taken on the recently declared environmental crisis.
For the last four years we have been engaged in an award winning campaign that is coming to its fruition. We’ve knocked on doors, talked to Bedfordians and acted to make the borough and its transport better for all. And on 2 May the people of Bedford will be going to the polls to elect our new council.
We need your support to ensure that the right people in Bedford know about the good work we have been doing. And that means we have to pay to get our message on leaflets we deliver to their doors. The Green Party doesn’t have major third party donors, or funding from a well-endowed central party machine. It relies on donations from friends, members and people like you.
So please help make sure we can take our message to the people of Bedford Borough and ensure that there is a powerful Green voice in Bedford come 2 May.
