New stretch target

We've hit first target!!

Now that we've raised £500, we have enough funds to put forward a candidate in Portsmouth North - thanks to all our generous contributors!

What we can raise now will help us reach out to voters, to let them know there is a Green candidate in Portsmouth and what we stand for, both at the General Election next month, and the local elections next year.

So let's reach to £1,000 together to fund our campaign and help elect a Green in Portsmouth!

This election is about more than Brexit - the Climate Emergency is the biggest threat to us today. This has to be the climate election!

The Green Party are the only ones putting the Climate Emergency at the heart of their campaign and we are pledging £100bn a year to tackle climate change!

This will be the Climate Election because we must take radical action now.

We are raising money to stand a Green candidate in Portsmouth. We need funds to pay for the deposit and for election materials. It costs £500 for each candidate and it can cost as much again to print a single newsletter for just one constituency.

Our Green Candidate for Portsmouth North, Lloyd Day, grew up in Hayling and has been a Hilsea resident for the last six years. He has lived and worked in the area all his life and has a great understanding of local issues:

"As a Specialist Paramedic I am based in North Harbour but work all over the local area covering mainly Portsmouth, Southsea, Havant, Hayling, Waterlooville, Fareham and Gosport. I work closely with the QA Hospital staff and other community services as part of my role.

As a Paramedic with over 18 years of experience of working in the area, I feel I have a good understanding of the worries, concerns and issues affecting the people of Portsmouth."

The Green Party are not funded by big business or millionaires, so we are looking for you to support our candidates to stand in the city and inform residents that they have a choice. We only have a small fraction of the amount the other main parties have to spend on campaigning, so anything you can afford will help to make a real difference. Being funded by small donors makes us more accountable to local people rather than big business interests.

The snap general election is really close and we don’t have much time!

Please give what you can and help return more Green MPs on December 12!

Thank you!

P.S Because we are a political party:

We are required to run permissibility checks on donations over £500. These will be completed as pledges are made. For the same reason, we cannot accept anonymous donations over £500. If you make multiple donations to us, they may be aggregated for our reporting purposes. Your details will appear in our election returns if valued over £500, and if you donate over £7500 your identity will appear on the Electoral Commission website.
