A former school caretaker who was left partially paralysed after a fall has made a heartfelt plea for help to transform his home.

This is such a tragic set of circumstances that could happen to any of us. For a person that was so highly thought of in the community, I hope people come together now to support you at this difficult time.

Hi I wish I could donate more but I'm not working due to being ill myself. Im also registered disabled and am awaiting a heart transplant to save my life. I'm only 42 and a single mum. I'm not on a good income as claim benefit and PIP so can't afford much but i read your plight and wanted to help in some way. I know i'm not facing the same problems as you but know how hard it is to have the life you once had taken away so quickly and not having your independence anymore. I hope you get the conservatory you need to make things a little easier and enjoyable. God bless. Tarna xxx
