Help give the people of Swindon the chance to vote Green in the 2015 General Election
About the project
We need to raise funds to pay the deposits to field two candidates from the Green Party in the general election. The fee to stand a candidate in the general election is £500 - and we have two constituencies in Swindon where we want to stand candidates.
We also need to fund publicity. The Green Party has, so far, received much less media coverage than any of the other main parties, so we need to make sure that we get the message out about what we stand for. Without leaflets and flyers we won't be able to reach all the households in Swindon to tell them what our policies are.
Why We Need Your Help
The Green Party don’t have the big business backing of the establishment parties or UKIP. Campaigns are powered by our members and supporters.
Unlike the other main parties, The Green Party will only accept donations from businesses that operate ethically, and so we’re more reliant on individual donors, like you, to help fund our work.
This also means we’re not tied up by behind-the-scenes deals that would stop us from realising Green policies.
Crowdfunding means we can run this campaign with no strings attached.
The Green Party is the only party left in the UK with a positive agenda for change. Only the Green Party promises to deliver:
- A £10/hour minimum Living Wage by 2020
- A Wealth Tax on the richest 1% to pay for genuinely affordable housing
- Public ownership of the railways
- Free university education and equal support for vocational training
- 100% renewable energy
Join the Green Surge in Swindon. More people than ever before are joining and supporting the Green Party.
The Small Print
Even the smallest donation is hugely appreciated, every little helps, and we will use every penny to the best possible effect. There are some Electoral Commission rules by which we have to abide: To pledge £500 or more you must be a registered UK voter, and you'll need to provide your contact details and address. (We realise this is more than most of you will be able to donate, don’t worry!).
If you aren't currently registered to vote, you can register at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote (Opens in new window).
We're sorry, but PayPal charge 1.9%+20p on each pledge
(so a £10 donation will be £10.39 including fees)
