We want to support the Middleton St George Community Centre whilst it's losing donations due to Covid-19.

New stretch target

We want to help the Community Centre build a noticeboard, but they're also celebrating their 40th year supporting the community this year. Any extra funds raised will go towards helping them achieve that goal.

Crowdfunder is making it 100% free for community and charity crowdfunding projects during the coronavirus crisis.

Middleton Hall Retirement Village have decided to jump on board with the new craze that has taken the internet by storm, called the 5k for Heroes Challenge.

All residents are invited to take part in a 5 kilometre challenge, whereby we use the grounds and services to either walk, wheel or cycle the total distance of 5km (3.107 miles). You can do this in one go or spread it over a few days/a week. We are hoping to raise money for the Middleton St George Community Centre.

The volunteer-run Community Centre in Middleton St. George heavily relies on donations to stay open, and since the lockdown started, it has lost income. It currently runs a day nursery for key workers’ children, but usually hosts exercise classes, family events, and the Brownies and Guides that sing carols for us every Christmas. It celebrates 40 years of supporting the community in December.

The Middleton St George Community Association would like to use the money raised to run a programme of free events at the centre, which will benefit as many of the local community as possible. "This could be anything from a free lunch party to free classes and free hall hire, as we know you all deserve it. What's more, we'll ask you to help us decide what we treat you to at the centre!"

We encourage supporting this charity, but you are welcome to choose one closer to your heart if you prefer, for example an NHS charity, or the Middleton Hall Environmental Charity.
