New stretch target

** Update 21 April: We've been able to use the £1,400 raised so far to make up 70 packs, and we have demand for more. Can you help us bless 100 families on the estate? **

Wouldn't it be great if we could bless 50 [Update: 100] families in Barton with bumper arts and crafts hampers to keep their children entertained during the lockdown?

The coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown is affecting everyone - but in different ways. Some of us are now working from home, but we have secure jobs and are actually saving money on our daily commute! Other people have lost a big chunk of their income and have higher expenses with their kids at home all week.

In Barton, an estate at the edge of Oxford, some families will be facing the pressure of tighter budgets, without easy access to free school meals. In the last few weeks, their lives have got a whole lot harder, as they've gone from working parent to homeschool teacher. With your help, we'd love to ease the pressure, by providing 50 [Update: 100] families on the estate with bumper arts and crafts hampers to keep their children entertained.

Barton Community Church (BCC) have been here since 2010, seeking to be an authentic community that brings hope to the heart of Barton. In these challenging times, we'd like to invite you to put smiles on children's faces, to let families know that someone is thinking of them, and to make parents' lives easier by blessing them with an arts and crafts box that will keep their kids entertained for hours.

Every £20 you can donate will go towards a chock-full arts and crafts box, with paints, colouring in books, make-your-own craft sets and activity packs - enough to keep kids entertained for hours and make life easier for families in lockdown.

In these times, let's look out for each other, and put smiles on people's faces.

Please help us make a difference for 100 families and their children in Barton.

Thank you.

Who gets a hamper?

We are prioritising delivering these arts and crafts boxes to families who will be struggling more than most during this crisis. 48% of children at the local primary school are on free school meals and it's especially these families we want to bless. If your family, or a family you know, would benefit from receiving one of these boxes, let us know.

What happens if you don't reach your target?

We will give away as many hampers as we possibly can with the resources that we have.

Can I Gift Aid my donation?

Gift Aid is a great government scheme that means charities can claim back 25p for every £1 donated. have told us that they will be able to claim the Gift Aid and pass it on without any fees to Barton Community Church, which we will use to support other areas of the church (e.g. the Foodbank) during this time.

We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
