Aim to crowd fund to purchase a 3D printer, to print models for people in the Model railway community. An Ultimaker 2 is the target. The reason for going down this route is due to the increase in costs going through commercial printers, having seen some results from these printers have encouraged me to try and get one myself... sadly money is a problem, people want the models we have created but the costs are off putting.

Why a 3D printer and why an Ultimaker 2.3D printing is becoming quite a wanted tool in the model railway  world, I have used it to create model coaches, and vans, and hopefully more in the future. You may ask why not use Shapeways... or I materialise... well I have but the price has gone up by double due to the models size and also you are at the mercy of where the planners put your models in the printer... if they do this wrong, the model won't print properly.

So this is why I wanted to do this my self, and also help others who may want to try their 3D models before going ahead and going for a more expensive option.

In a way It's a Kind of magic... watching something you have designed coming out of printer...
