The staff and volunteers at Robes are working harder than ever to house their homeless guests in temporary accommodation across Southwark, my local borough, during this current crisis: robes.org.
From Midnight Friday 17 April until Midnight Saturday 18 April I am going to spend 24 hours in total silence with the aim to raise £240 to support the crucial work being done by the incredible people at Robes.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a chatterbox. You know I will trip up ... however, I am willing to pay the price.
If I write an unnecessary comment or question via notepad, open or read texts, emails or Whatsapp messages, or like a post on social media - I will pay £5 towards the campaign each time.
(My boyfriend will be supervising me, and believe me, he will make sure I stick to the rules*!)
- I cannot talk or communicate for 24hours, in any language
- I cannot write or send any emails / texts / DM messages to anyone No written communication via notepad unless it's urgent - e.g. 'I am locked out' or 'Please stand 2 meters away from me'
- I cannot post anything on any social media platform unless it's about my sponsored silence
