Two university students in Glasgow training to compete at the 2016 GP14 Worlds in Barbados. You could help make their dream come true!

We did it!

On 31st Jan 2016 we successfully raised £200 with 9 supporters in 56 days

 Two University Students From Glasgow Training To Compete At The 2016 GP14 Sailing World Championships In Barbados.

At both 19 years old Alasdair Ireland and Philippa Benson are two of the youngest competitors entered for the GP14 2016 World Championships. The duo have already claimed a series of regatta wins as well as winning a Scottish National Championship together earlier in 2015. With the goal of winning the Under 21 category at the World Championships in April the pair are committed to a strong training schedule. 

As imaginable the associated costs involved in participating in such an event can be high, these include:

  • Boat transportation
  • Travel to and from the event
  • All associated boat maintance
  • Accommodation
