On 14th November 2015 we successfully raised £2,122 with 30 supporters in 56 days

Build a memorial beside the river to the 6000 1WW Belgian Refugees who made our towns "The Belgian Village on the Thames".

First milestone !

Twickenham and Richmond's Belgian Refugee Memorial Appeal has now hit its first £500 !!    All our thanks to everyone so far who has helped us commemorate The Belgian Village on the Thames.

£10 Reward

Your name will be added to the Roll of Honour in "Belgium on Thames: Twickenham and Richmond in the First World War", a book telling the story of our Belgian Refugees which will be published when the memorial is unveiled. And if you want to, you may add the name of a Belgian Refugee from the neighbourhood (with family).

£20 or more

You will also receive a copy of the watercolour of the memorial site by local artist Carol Wain, with the memorial inscription shown in decorative script.

Additionally to the other rewards, Local Historian Helen Baker will provide a guided tour of the key sites in Richmond and Twickenham’s Belgian story, showing fascinating historic photos of buildings which, in most cases, are still here today.

Additional to the other rewards, you will be one of the special guests invited to the reception after the memorial unveiling. You will also receive a signed copy of "Belgium on Thames", and an offer for your name to be shown on the information board beside the memorial itself.
