On November 4th, a special ceremony will be held in Manchester in the UK, to honour my great-uncle, Lt. Col. Neville Marshall, VC, MC, Irish Guards/Lancashire Fusiliers, who was killed on this date in 1918, one week before Armistice.
The tribute, being organized by Trafford Council, will include a plaque-unveiling ceremony and the laying of a VC Paving Stone in his honour. I live in Brazil and would obviously very much like to be present, as well as to do additional research and to see potential publishers about the publication of his war diaries, which I hold. However, I have been undergoing cancer treatment for the past 2 years, so have been unable to work during this time, so if anyone wishes to help me to raise the necessary funding to make this 2-week trip, I will be more than grateful.
A friend has just offered to pay for my return ticket from Brazil to the UK, so I am now only seeking support for hotel and other expenses within the UK during a two-week period, in the sum of 800 GBP. Your support would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
