After having won an award for best music performance in Buxton festival in 2018, 'Une Vie en Rose' goes to Brighton Fringe Festival in May 2019.
The show is about the Life and Songs of Edith Piaf. I have written this show and have first premiered it at the Toulouse Lautrec in London on the 9th march 2018.
The show is performed with 3 musicians (piano, bass and drums) and myself. It tells the story of Madame Piaf and how I grew up with her music and how she has inspired my life. I perform the songs in my countertenor voice and the musicians bring a jazz feel to the songs which creates a very unique sound.
Check out the video trailer that Christopher Hanvey has made of the show.
The show has been selling very well every time we have performed it in London but the next step is to get it seen by a wider audience in the UK.
Buxton Fringe Festival was the first Festival we went to with 5 performances and it was immensely successful. We are now scheduled to appear at the Brighton Festival between the 15th and 18th of may for 4 performances. This is a really fantastic opportunity that we must take to keep growing and sharing this project.
Unfortunately it all adds up and costs money. This is where we need help. I must be able to pay 3 musicians and get them to travel with their instruments, pay for the venue and registration fees and also have enough money to eat. The show is ready to go but we need a push to be able to go to Brighton to show off the hard work we have put into 'Une Vie en Rose'.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!
To be able to go to Brighton, we need £2899. This money goes towards travels, paying musicians a very basic wage and paying for the theatre. We will be in Brighton for 4 days.
Going on tour is very expensive and so far I have been doing everything myself. I have been investing, producing, writing, organising, designing and performing. I am getting to a point where I need help to go further or we are hitting a wall.
To be able to go to Brighton Festival, I need to raise around £2899. It sounds like a lot of money but the musicians will only get a salary of £400 for the total of the performances which is unfortunately still below equity minimum and rather small compared with the amount of work we have to put into this show.
If we raise £2899 we can go to Brighton and that is really fantastic.
If you are interested in making a donation and would like a particular reward, please get in touch. I am happy to discuss any possibilities. I can perform for events you might like to have with just a piano or with a full band. That's what we do best so please don't hesitate to ask. You also can have some tickets to our upcoming shows in London.
Any help will be helpful and greatly appreciated. This is huge and it is a dream finally coming true. I hope money will not get in the way of all the hard work we have put into this.
Thank you for your time and for reading.
