New stretch target

All money will be going to support the Nicholson's and their beautiful brave little boy Josh.

With permission from his mum and dad, Matt and Victoria Nicholson, Katie Rose and I are raising funds for #TeamJosh. Josh was diagnosed with Leukaemia in August 2014 and sadly relapsed in January 2017. Josh has undergone extensive invasive treatments including chemotherapy and stem cell transplants at Birmingham Children's hospital. Joshua has had chemotherapy injected into his spine to eliminate the leukaemia present in his spinal fluid and bone marrow. He is now undergoing chemotherapy to keep the disease at bay but this is not a long term solution. Josh and his family will now need to travel further from home to access pioneering treatment. They are hoping that Josh can have Car T Cell Therapy. This is a new version of a transplant and is a very frightening and risky procedure. Josh's family have explained the process as the eradication of the cancer cells with high dose Chemotherapy whilst engineering of Josh's own healthy cells. These healthy engineered cells will then be reintroduced and will continue the fight against any diseased cells. This is a new therapy but the family have heard positive outcomes from others and are hopeful it can help Josh. Josh will need to go into protective isolation for some time, meaning his mum and dad will have to take leave from work. We cannot imagine the devastating circumstances the Nicholson's are having to live through at this time and the pain and suffering of Josh is heartbreaking. Josh is such a brave little boy and we want to support him and his family as much as we can whilst he gives this disease the fight it deserves. I have run half marathon's before but i am so proud of my friend Katie who is taking on this challenge for the first time. Please donate to our fund which will go to the Nicholson family to support their living and treatment costs during this horrendous time. Go Josh, we're all behind you, you got this! Many thanks in advance Heather & Katie #LawnswoodRunforTeamJosh
