We aim to create the world's first 24/7 social supermarket in Wakefield. #Kindness: TRJFP Sharehouse aims to open in September 2018

New stretch target

If we were to raise more than the £2000 needed to secure the property for 1 year, we would invest this into people. We are a Living Wage employer, and we would use the extra funds to empower local people to gain skills and employment through TRJFP

1534183191_37649860_198176727707653_6320If we manage to raise the £2000 we require, we can use this to make our first down payment on the property we have sought out for the launch of this project.

Based in WF2, Wakefield, #Kindness: TRJFP Sharehouse will intercept surplus food from all over West Yorkshire, and create employment and volunteer opportunities for local people, in the fight against food waste!

  • We will increase our Freegan Box Project; supporting families with a subsidy of weekly groceries
  • We will start our educational work in schools from September, empowering the next generation.
  • We will increase the volume of food we intercept per week from 3-4 tons (currently) to over 2 tons per day.
  • We will support and collaborate with the likes of St Catherine's Community Centre, and City of Sanctuary, to provide not only space for them to cold store food, but also a provision per week to support their service users.
  • Corporate volunteer opportunities for local businesses and organisations to get involved.
  • Increase in our outside catering, supporting more events and even an increase in wedding catering.

The money will also be used to create a Community Fridge and 'zero-waste' shop for the public to use.

In order for us to support the thousands, we need your support to raise just £2000 in the next fortnight.

An increase in PAYF donations in time, money and/or skills, will help sustain the project to secure a 1 year tenancy, and allow us to grow nationally to support as many people as possible, whilst also achieving our main objective of supporting the planet.
