Premise '2032'

Short Film. Abandoned building. 2032. Nicholas Robinson (26), and his younger sister Kate (17) are travelling through a post-apocalyptic wasteland, looking for a battery to power a car to escape a dangerous mutated creature. How will Kate decide, when she’s faced with an impossible choice of saving herself or risking everything for her brother?

Meet the Team

Director- Bethan Mayers

Bethan started her interest in film-making in the late stages of high school. She achieved 6 Distinction* in Media Production and Music Technology. In College began making films and was the editor for both a thriller and music video. She is currently in her final year of studying Ba (Hons) Film at the University where she has had experience in editing and directing a variety of fiction genres from drama to psychological thriller as well as editing, producing and directing documentary film. In her final year at USW she is editing a romantic drama - Love, Mary (2018) and Directing a post-apocalyptic/Sci-fi thriller. As an editor she has a keen eye for precision and detail. She aims to graduate and then further her education with a Masters in film.

Producer- Jessica Gammon

Jessica displayed a natural interest towards creative arts from a young age; as a child she wrote stories and sketched realism portraits. Her fascination with art developed in all kinds of mediums; from paper and canvas to behind the camera lens. She completed three A-levels in Art, Photography and English Language and chose to uproot from her hometown of Northampton and move to Cardiff to study (BA)Film.

It was in University that Jessica honed in on her skills. She was initially intrigued with Sound and specialised in that for a while, however she discovered her love for Producing later on. ‘Love, Mary’ is the second film she’s produced and she is currently in the middle of pre-production for her third film.  

Cinematographer- Jessica Flavin

From an early age Jessica has had a keen interest in all aspects of film making, in particular cinematography, since receiving her first video camera at age 13. Jessica went on to receive A’s in both GCSE and A level Media Studies and created a short thriller film and mental health documentary ‘#TeenProblems’, which later resulted in an unconditional offer to study BA Hons Film Production at the University of South Wales. Now currently in her third year at University, she has just completed her first short film ‘Love, Mary’ as cinematographer and is in the process of developing her final graduation film. Jessica is hoping to complete her degree in 2019 and later on apply to do a Masters degree in film at the University of Edinburgh in 2020.

Screenwriter- Vojta Prochazka

Vojtech Prochazka is an award-winning Director, Producer and Writer from Prague, Czech Republic focusing mostly in Fiction Films and TV series. Following his passion and hobby, he moved from a career at the Czech Railroad to studying (Ba)Film at the University of South Wales. For a few years he was part of a theatre ensemble playing lead roles in a several fairy tales and one an evening theatre play. Among many of his hobbies we can find guitar playing, rock climbing and camping. He wishes to continue studying scriptwriting with broader range including Scripts for Video Games on FAMU, university in Prague.
