At Zebras Childrens Club our vision is to create a space where everyone can come together, be accepted and above all be themselves. We aim to provide unique, quality services that will benefit many people and enrich lives.

Zebras Childrens Club was founded in February 2015 by two parent carers who after experiencing difficulties in finding suitable groups for their disabled son to attend decided to create their own unique activities and skills group.

Their 10 year old son Joshua is Autistic and Learning Disabled . Joshua is the inspiration for starting the organisation and his parents are aiming for him to have a big role in the running of the services in the future. Zebras Childrens Club caters for any child whom has any disabilty, and their siblings are also welcomed to come along and play too.

Since opening the organisation is growing , there are many families registered who benefit from using the service, as parents accompany their children they are encouraged to meet other parent carers whom may be dealing with the same difficulties and are in need of support and a place where their children can attend without judgement and prejudice.

The activties that are offered to the children are:

  • Soft play equipment
  • Ball pond
  • Sensory equipment
  • Music
  • Game stations
  • Arts & crafts
  • Basket ball
  • Dressing up/role play
  • Learning new life skills ,  and many other additional games plus special events and arranged day trips throughout the year.

The service is vital to the community, and every child whom has attended enjoys the relaxed, sociable environment, even children whom are non- verbal experience moments where they have interacted in ways in which they have never before, leaving parents amazed and delighted.

It is so important that this organisation is able to be sustained financially.

In March 2016, the organisation opened its doors to a new service for adults with disabilities called ZAG (Zebras Adult Group).

The formula is the same as the childrens club in that there are many leisure activities on offer, and even beauty treatments for the wonderful women whom attend the group. Recently the club offered to its service users a free BBQ, the weather was great and everyone who attended had a great day.

Although there is a small charge for the attendees to use the  services, at the moment the organisation runs at a loss. One of the major costs to be able to provide the groups is the cost of hiring the hall where the sessions are held. Even though they receive a reduced rate the cost of the annual hall hire is £2640 per year, hence Crowdfunding with the aim to raise enough money to sustain the much needed sessions.

Zebras Childrens Club C.I.C is in the process of applying to become a registered charity as they have long term plans for the organisation, this being to open a modest recreational centre for children and adults with disabilities. This would also open up further opportunties for voluntary work. Zebras Club aims to offer further services such as advocacy and emotional support.

Please help us to achieve this goal by pledging today! Thank you in advance for your kindness, you will be making a huge difference to many lives.
