Project aim

The Wycombe Youth Council is running a Project called 'The Big Sleepout' to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness in High Wycombe.

About the project

The Youth Council is planning a Social Action Project called 'The Big Sleepout' which will be held in July 2015. This will involve the Youth Council 'sleeping rough' for one night, raising money through sponsorship for the local charity Wycombe Homeless Connection. Wycombe Homeless Connections provides vital support to people who are homeless or who are facing homelessness.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of the different issues that homeless people face, and the causes of homelesness, especially amongst young people. The Youth Council will produce a short film, which will be shown in schools to further raise awareness.

We would apprecite any support you are able to give us so that we can deliver an impactful and memorable project. Our aim is to raise £300 so that we can purchase sleeping bags, blankets, soup and other basic equipment for our 'Big Sleepout Project'. Sleeping bags and other equipment will be donated to Wycombe Homeless Connection after the project, helping them deliver their vital work to locl homeless people.
