The whole team at York Road Project (YRP) recognise that life on the streets can be soul destroying and lonely. This project is about giving our clients a different experience, even if it is only for one day. We know that external activities are good for building rapport with staff and forgetting your troubles for a few hours.
A rainy boat ride along the canal.
The plan is to hire a coach and take all of our clients to Littlehampton for a day in the summer. We will ensure that they have suite clothing, take them to lunch and give them all some pocket money so they can explore the town and buy a souvenir.
Out clients are some of the most marginalised members of our community. They often feel like they have been forgotten and we at YRP work to support them to address their situation. YRP provides an emergency night shelter (11 beds), 18 move on beds in four separate houses, an outreach team and a day centre offering skills training, advice and activities to help boost self esteem and confidence.
We are the only organisation in Woking borough supporting rough sleepers and each year we work with over 350 individuals.

If you support this project, you will recieve a hand written letter from one of the clients thanking you for your help and maybe telling you a bit about their day.

Please help us to help those in need and huge thanks to everyone who has supported us in the past - without your help we would be unable to offer all we do.
