I am attempting the world record manual wheelchair push, pushing from Landsend to john ogroats, to be completed on my 50th birthday in April. I wanted to mark my half century with something special rather just than a party. What is more suiting than something i really enjoy and has helped with my mental health? I have applied to the Guiness book of records for an official attempt. I have some of my army brothers involved. If you would like to help out please get in touch.
My disability is service related. I have spinal issues and i have had surgery at multiple levels. I also had a brain problem having had 4 brain operations. I used to be a marathon runner until my problems started back in 2011. Being told id never run again was a bitter pil to swallow. But i gave my self a kick up the backside 2 years ago i started wheelchair racing about 18 months ago. I now train most days and race most weeks.
The charity i am raising for is voluntary run by a lovely couple Richard and Dawn Woodhouse. They pay for veterans and serving service personnel who are suffering with mental health and physical issues to go on a holiday to Jersey all expenses paid they also psy for their familes. I benefitted this year and had an amazing time. The people of Jersey have really taken thus charity to their hearts.
Every penny helps as does every share. Even just a pound. Most social media groups have an average of 2k people so a quid goes a long way. If you have your own business and you would like to help you can write tax off against charity so it will cost you nothing. Thanks for reading.
