For many years Winner Street, the most historic and diverse part of Paignton has had Christmas Lights erected up and down the street. This has always lifted the hearts of the Traders and residents of the street and surrounding area at the most cheerful time of year. In years past the lights have been funded by the Council and the Paignton BID, levy. However; in late summer 2015 this funding was cut and we had no lights. Since then the Trader's have formed our own association to fund Winner Street's survival and one of the biggest desires of the hard working Traders and local residents alike is to raise funds to put up Christmas lights for ourselves. This summer has seen decorative bunting going up all around Paignton but sadly the local council have not deemed it possible to fund this for Winner Street. We do not want the same situation for Christmas lights and urge you to help us raise the funds to sustain this ourselves this year and beyond.
