New stretch target

Anything raised over our original amount will go straight towards more research on where the show goes next.  This initial stage is just the research and development process, and there is a lot more to do.

With any extra funding, we will spend time talking to more birth professionals, a designer, a musician and more new parents, figuring out how we can best represent this massive tricky topic in the best way

WILD is a show about birth, and about how we are possibly using the wrong language when we talk about it. It is a part of The Birth Project, a collection of shows/exhibitions/podcasts tackling all this complicated stuff with ferocity and humour. We have a lot of ideas and we need to start somewhere.

The show (a work-in-progress version) is booked in to the From Devon With Love festival at The Bike Shed Theatre in Exeter at the end of January, and at the Doula UK conference in London at the end of March.

We are really committed to making it happen. We have applied to Arts Council England and have been turned down. The feedback was that there was no weakness in the bid at all. On that day, in that meeting, we were unlucky. It has been  a massive blow.

The eventual plan for the show is that we will have two slightly different versions, one for theatre spaces and one for conferences. We want to work with new parents and birth professionals to make a show that feels really NEEDED.

The show will be bold, loud, ferocious and will DEFINITELY feature a glitter bomb.

£2000 will fund our rehearsals for the festival, and for the conference.

We really need your help.
