Eman is a 24 year old Syrian woman that our charity, Humanitarian Family Aid, met a couple of weeks ago. Her story was heart-breaking and had all our volunteers in tears yet she contained her emotions and showed such strength. In the period of only two years she has lost her father, the father of her children and two of her brothers.
Her and her family fled the war in Syria for the safety of Jordan and now her, her mother, 8 year old brother and 2 small children share a small flat in Amman. While they no longer fear for their lives, life in Jordan is difficult and very expensive. The children suffer from PTSD and regularly wake up screaming from the nightmares as a result of the many traumas that they have experienced in their short lives.
There is no man able to support them and so her elderly mother has taken it upon herself to earn what she can. Whilst Eman takes care of the children, she travels daily baking bread and selling on with her excruciatingly painful arthritic hands to feed the family however this income hardly puts a dent in their living expenses.
We at Humanitarian Family Aid have pledged to provide Eman and her family with the help they so desperately need. To provide Eman with rent, food parcels, and transport to take her children to school for one year we need £3600. So far we have received £700 from donors but we need an additional £2900. We are appealing to you to give whatever you can in order to provide this family with a chance of a better life.
