Travelled Companions need to raise £3,000 to go towards the creation of our next piece of interactive theatre for very young audiences which will tour nationally in the UK throughout 2015 and beyond.
With funding from Liverpool Hope University's UnLTD. Fund we have already undertaken the Research & Development phase for the production working with performers, puppeteers, a choreographer, a writer, a musician and a visual artist. We are now ready to move onto the full creation of this new piece of theatre for children under 5 and have been granted the majority of the funds to do this from Arts Council England's Grants for the Arts.
We now need to raise just £3,000 to realise this project to it's full potential!
Who we are
Travelled Companions specialise in creating original, imaginative and engaging theatre for young audiences. Using music, movement, storytelling and media, we create stimulating theatrical environments for children to explore and engage with.
The company is run by Liverpool based performers Leila Chebbi and Emma Hirons who first met when training in Physical Theatre in 2004. We then spent several years working as performers touring nationally and internationally with many Children's Theatre companies. Through this we both discovered a real passion for high quality theatre for young audiences. We talked about all the skills and experience we had gained in this area of performance and about how much we loved creating and performing high quality work for children, so we set up Travelled Companions to enable us to do it for ourselves.
In 2010 Travelled Companions produced Remember Remember, a piece of interactive storytelling theatre for children aged 4-7years with support from Arts Council England, Hope Street Ltd. and Unity Theatre Liverpool. The production has been highly successful, toured to theatre's in the North West and last year embarked on it's first national tour to theatre venues with the added benefit of having been adapted to tour to community/schools venues whilst keeping it's highly theatrical style.
We are now embarking on the creation of our next piece of theatre for an even younger target audience of children under 5...

Why we are Crowdfunding?
We at Travelled Companions are incredibly grateful for the majority of funding we have received so far; however, to enable to us to allow this project to reach it's full potential we need to raise a further £3,000 towards the final creation stage of the piece.
This money will enable us to do the following:
Make it beautiful - We want to create a set for the piece that is of the highest quality to ensure our audience receive an experience of the highest quality; this piece will be an immersive, interactive theatre experience for very young children. We want to create a beautiful and tactile space for the audience to enjoy and take part in the show. Some of the money we raise here will pay for these materials and a workspace to create the set in.
A space to create - We will be rehearsing and creating the piece fully over 3 weeks, working with all of the artist involved and we'll need a space to do this in which will need subsidising.
Taking the show to next level - Once we have created this piece we want to take it to as many people as possible; theatres, schools, community venues, festivals and beyond to ensure as many children and families can access the work we have created for them. To do this we need to create top quality marketing materials and provide the time to promote and sell our product. We will use some of the money we raise on here to cover the running and administration costs we will need to do this.

We've got a fantastic team of hugely skilled artists together to help us create this magical piece of theatre for children. All we need is this last bit of money to make our ideas become a reality. We hope you like the rewards that we have created for you to enjoy in return for your kind support.
Please pledge your support for Colin the catarpillar and the team at Travelled Companions!
