We're raising money to fund the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to vaccinate the badgers on our organic farm and the neighbouring woodland to protect them and our cattle against TB.
Our farm is located in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, we farm organically rearing rare breed livestock including Shetland cattle, Manx Loaghtan, white faced woodland, Norfolk horn and Portland Sheep. We are passionate about rearing food in balance with nature, and want to protect our very established families of badgers on the farm. They have lived here for years and we don't believe they present any risk to our cattle or other farmers cattle locally from TB.
If there is a nation wide cull on badgers next year our badgers could be under threat. The Wildlife Trust is also passionate about badgers and believe that a vaccination programme will solve many TB problems over the country. It costs just £35 to vaccinate a badger.
Can you help us with this innovative programme to help keep our local wildlife safe for us all to enjoy. I would love to be able to afford to pay for this myself but my business is new and all our income is ploughed back I to developing the business at the moment.
I want to get our badgers vaccinated before the inevitable nationwide cull the government are planning. We believe the biggest risk of transmitting TB is to disturb and destroy healthy established badger communities. Vaccinating healthy badgers solves this problem so we can live in harmony. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
